Diversity - Give a Care

What is Diversity and Inclusion?

Diversity is the differences that make us unique. They are our individual attributes such as age, disability, ethnicity, family structure, gender, national origin, race, religion and sexual orientation.

Inclusion is valuing these differences by creating an environment where clients and staff feel respected and valued for their uniqueness.

At Give a Care, diversity and inclusiveness are extremely important to us. We employ Disability Support Workers from all walks of life, and get to know the uniqueness of each of our clients, so we are better able to serve them.

The Rainbow Tick

In addition, Give a Care is currently undergoing The Rainbow Tick accreditation process for the LGBTI community. Rainbow Tick Accreditation provides assurance to LGBTI clients and staff that an organisation will be responsive to their needs.

The Rainbow Tick consists of six standards against which services can be formally accredited to demonstrate LGBTI inclusive practice and service delivery.

Services are assessed against six standards:

1. Organisational capability
2. Workforce development
3. Consumer participation
4. A welcoming and accessible organisation
5. Disclosure and documentation
6. Culturally safe and acceptable services

Give a Care acknowledges and recognises the Traditional Owners of the land upon which we live and work, and we pay our respects to their Elders both past and present.

Give a Care is working towards Rainbow Tick accreditation. Rainbow Tick Accreditation provides assurance to LGBTI consumers and staff that an organisation will be responsive to their needs.

Give a Care is a TAC, WorkSafe and NDIS Accredited Service Provider
